According to ANI, the Navi Mumbai Police detained four individuals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang on Saturday. Their intention was allegedly to target the vehicle of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in Panvel.
Salman Khan’s security status was raised to Y-Plus in 2022 as a precaution against potential threats from gang members Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Khan has also been granted permission to carry a personal firearm and has procured a new armoured vehicle to enhance his security measures.
According to the report, there was allegedly a plot to procure weapons from a supplier in Pakistan. More than 17 individuals, including Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi, Sampat Nehra and Goldy Brar, have been named in a First Information Report (FIR). The police have stated that they are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
The individuals who were apprehended have been identified by police officials as Dhananjay, also known as Ajay Kashyap, Gaurav Bhatia, known as Nahvi, Waspi Khan, who goes by Wasim Chikna, and Rizwan Khan, also known as Javed Khan.
Following an incident on 14th April, where two individuals on a motorcycle fired several shots outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area, there have been recent developments. The two suspects, identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, were subsequently apprehended in Gujarat. Another individual, Anuj Thapan, was arrested on 26th April in Punjab, along with one more person connected to the case. Unfortunately, the third suspect, Thapan, passed away on 1st May while in the custody of the Mumbai police’s crime branch.
In March of the previous year, an email containing threats against the 58-year-old actor was received at his office. In response, the Mumbai Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) against gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, along with another individual, under sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 506-II (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
According to PTI, the FIR stemmed from a complaint filed with the Bandra Police by Prashant Gunjalkar. Gunjalkar, who reportedly often visited Khan’s residence in Bandra and operated an artist management company, lodged the complaint.
