Scammers are tricking MNGL customers in Pune with fake gas disconnection threats for unpaid bills
Scammers are now targeting MNGL customers in Pune using the same trick they used for MSEDCL customers before. They make a WhatsApp profile that looks official with the MNGL logo and claim to be from MNGL. They call or message customers and say their bill hasn’t been paid or updated.
They even know the customer’s BP number, making it seem real. They convince customers to make a test payment to a fake account or download a bad app, then steal their money. MNGL warned customers about this on their ‘X’ account.
Dear Customers,

Beware of fraud calls asking to download payment related apps. Payments are accepted only through modes mentioned on the Invoice. If you receive any such call kindly report on GOI's (Chakshu portal) https//sancharsaathi.gov.in/sfc/.
Team MNGL
It’s worrying that the scammers have the right BP number and phone number of the customer. Authorities need to find out how they’re getting this sensitive information.
Customers should go to MNGL’s official website to check their bills and pay safely.
