Tragic Accident on Mumbai-Pune Highway Claims Life of Woman, Husband Injured

In a heart-wrenching incident on the old Mumbai-Pune highway, a couple’s journey turned fatal when their motorcycle collided with a private luxury bus, leaving the wife dead on the spot and the husband critically injured.

Surekha and Anand Sanas were en route from Navi Mumbai to Pune when tragedy struck between Lonavala and Khandala. Negotiating a challenging turn, their motorcycle collided head-on with a private luxury bus traveling in the opposite direction.

The impact proved fatal for Surekha Anand Sanas, who succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while her husband, Anand Sehdev Sanas, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The CCTV footage from a nearby Zara hotel captured the grim accident, leading to the arrest of the bus driver by Lonavala police, who are currently investigating the incident.

This tragic occurrence adds to the growing concerns over the safety of the old Mumbai-Pune highway, which has witnessed a surge in accidents in recent times.
