A man who stated that he used to work as an engineer at a tech company has been discovered begging on the streets of Bengaluru.

His story gained attention through three videos shared on Instagram by @sharath_yuvaraja_official over a week ago. In the first video, he is seen wearing a red T-shirt and looking unkempt. He claimed to have been an engineer at a well-known tech consulting firm located in Global Village Tech Park, now referred to as Sattva Global City, near Mysuru Road, but said he left the job. His videos have gone viral, attracting support from many users online.

He mentioned that he began drinking after the loss of his parents and now relies on begging for survival. The account that shared his videos noted that he was found on JSS College Road in Jayanagar 8th Block. A commenter mentioned seeing him a few days earlier in 4th Block, appearing to be intoxicated. He reportedly refused any offers to be taken elsewhere.

In the remaining parts of the second video, the man spoke erratically about topics like meditation, the writings of David Hume, the theories of Albert Einstein, and the functions of the brain’s hippocampus and amygdala. In the third video, he mentioned that he had traveled to Frankfurt in 2013 and later moved to the city.

He expressed, “Actually, religion, caste, all those things… see what did (have) I become, finally. I need to read more, I need to read more.” Sharath, the individual who shared the videos, has been posting updates on the situation, including claims of reaching out to an NGO for assistance. He also shared a recording with someone who purported to be a doctor, stating that no NGO would accept the man without police involvement.
