New Delhi, December 14, 2024: Veteran BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani, 96, has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in New Delhi. Hospital officials have confirmed that his condition is stable, and he is under observation.
Dr. Vinit Suri, a senior neurologist, is overseeing his treatment. Advani was admitted two days ago, marking his second hospital visit this year. However, the reason for his current hospitalization has not been shared.
Born on November 8, 1927, in Karachi, Advani began his political journey at the age of 14 by joining the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). After the Partition in 1947, he moved to India with his family. In 1951, he became a member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, founded by Syama Prasad Mookerjee, and entered the Rajya Sabha in 1970. Two years later, he was elected as the party’s president.
During the Emergency in 1975, Advani, along with Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was arrested, further establishing his prominent role in Indian politics.
Advani’s hospitalization has raised concern among his well-wishers and party members, who continue to admire his immense contributions to Indian politics.
