YouTuber Ishan Sharma Sparks Debate Over High Prices at Luxury Restaurant
A recent post by YouTuber Ishan Sharma has gone viral after he shared a restaurant bill that shocked social media users. The bill, which showed no service charge, highlighted the hefty cost of a simple North Indian meal, sparking a lively discussion about pricing in luxury restaurants.
The Bill That Got Everyone Talking
Ishan Sharma posted a photo of the receipt on X (formerly Twitter), pointing out the “no service charge” note below the total. However, what really grabbed attention was the total amount—₹10,030 for a meal of just five dishes, including paneer khurchan, dal bhukhara, paneer makhani, khasta roti, and pudina parantha.
Sharma added a caption saying, “Restaurants, please pay attention!” to highlight the issue.
Social Media Reacts
The high prices left many social media users stunned, with most responses being critical.
- One user commented on the ₹2,900 price for paneer makhani, calling it “ridiculous.” Another pointed out that three paranthas cost ₹1,125.
- “They charged ₹375 for a roti that usually costs ₹25—no wonder they don’t bother with a 10% service charge,” one user joked.
- Another said, “They’ve already taken half a month’s salary of a hotel intern for five dishes, and they’re proudly showing no service charge.”
Some users questioned the need to dine at such expensive places, with one comment stating, “Nobody forces you to go to luxury hotels. If you can’t afford it, don’t go and then complain about the prices.”
