Sonu Sood Opens Up About Fallout with Kangana Ranaut: ‘She’s Not a Bad Person, Just Lacks Judgment’
Sonu Sood recently shared that he is not in touch with Kangana Ranaut at the moment. While he doesn’t consider her a bad person, he believes some of her actions may lack good judgment.
When asked if Kangana had approached him for another film, Sonu clarified that they haven’t spoken since working together on Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Their fallout dates back to 2019, when Sonu unexpectedly left the film. This incident marked the beginning of their strained relationship, which has lasted over five years.
Sonu explained, “I left Manikarnika because Kangana is a friend. Though we’re not on speaking terms now, I’ve been close with her family, and they still treat me warmly. I have a personal rule to never speak badly about someone I was once close to, no matter what happens. People might say hurtful things, but I won’t respond negatively. I feel Kangana isn’t a bad person, but sometimes she says or does things without thinking them through. I’ve made mistakes like that too, out of naivety.”
He also revealed that a mutual friend tried to bring them together, but those attempts didn’t work out.
Sonu’s decision to leave Manikarnika was reportedly due to his commitment to another film, Simmba, though there were also rumors of creative disagreements with Kangana.
