BAFTA Awards 2024 : Deepika Padukone among global stars as presenter
Deepika Padukone, a renowned Bollywood actress and a presenter at last year’s Oscars, is gearing up to grace the stage at BAFTA 2024 as one of the esteemed presenters. The international lineup includes prominent personalities such as David Beckham, Cate Blanchett, Dua Lipa, Lily Collins of ‘Emily In Paris,’ Adjoa Andoh, Hugh Grant, Emma Corrin, and Gillian Anderson from ‘The Crown,’ Himesh Patel known for ‘Black Mirror,’ and Idris Elba.
Expressing her gratitude, Deepika Padukone shared the exciting news on her Instagram Story. The Rising Star Award will be presented by former winners Emma Mackay and Jack O’Connell. Additionally, the event will feature performances by Hannah Waddingham and Sophie Ellis Bexter.
In 2023, Deepika Padukone gained attention for presenting an Oscar to the team of ‘RRR’ for the song ‘Naatu Naatu.’ Her introduction highlighted the song’s global impact with an irresistibly catchy chorus, electrifying beats, and killer dance moves, making it the first-ever song from an Indian production to receive an Oscar nomination.
The BAFTA Awards 2024 ceremony is scheduled for February 18 at the Royal Festival Hall in London, with live streaming available on Lionsgate Play for Indian audiences in the early hours of February 19.
