After India’s disappointing performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, the BCCI has introduced new rules to limit distractions and improve players’ focus during overseas tours.

As reported by Dainik Jagran, players’ families will now have restricted access during tours. For trips lasting over 45 days, families can stay with players for only 14 days. For shorter tours, the limit is seven days.

During the recent 50-day tour of Australia, several players’ families joined them. Virat Kohli’s wife, Anushka Sharma, was present throughout, while KL Rahul’s wife, Athiya Shetty, and Shubman Gill’s parents were also seen at matches.

The BCCI has also banned personal managers and assistants from accompanying players and coaches on tours. This impacts individuals like Gautam Gambhir’s manager, Gaurav Arora, who will no longer be allowed to stay in team hotels or sit in VIP boxes.

The BCCI hopes these rules will help players stay focused and improve their performance. These changes are part of a larger plan to ensure a more professional and disciplined approach after India’s poor performance in Australia.
