Watch: 10 Wagons Of Goods Train Derailed In New Delhi

A goods train carrying rolls of iron sheeting derailed on Saturday in the Zakhira region of Delhi, damaging up to ten wagons. Officials from the fire department and the railway arrived at the location and initiated the rescue effort. All India Trinamool Congress slammed the government and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for this accident.

Taking to X, the official handle of TMC posted, You’d expect the Indian Railways to have learnt a lesson from the tragic Balasore incident that claimed nearly 300 lives, but NO! Train accidents have become an all too common occurrence. Today, at least 10 wagons of a goods train derailed near Sarai Rohilla Railway in Delhi, potentially causing a casualty.  RM @AshwiniVaishnaw has transformed the once reliable mode of transport into a perilous death trap!”

A train carrying BHPL-CDG freight that was travelling from Mumbai to Chandigarh derailed in New Delhi close to the Jakhira flyover on the Patel Nagar-Daya Basti stretch. As of now, there have been no reports of casualties.

Delhi Police estimate that the derailment happened at 11:52 a.m. “Today, February 17, information was received at 11:52 hrs regarding the derailment of a train near Zakhira Flyover,” police stated.
