A technical problem forced a Vistara flight from Mumbai to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport shortly after takeoff, the airline said on Sunday (February 18). The flight was headed for Hyderabad.

According to an official statement, the airline guaranteed that the landing was safe and quickly scheduled another aircraft to take the passengers to their destination. The event happened on Saturday.

In its statement, Vistara said, “Shortly after take-off, a technical snag was detected on Vistara flight UK531 operating from Mumbai to Hyderabad on February 17, 2024.”

The pilots chose to return as a precaution and followed routine operating protocols; they returned and touched down safely at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The airline confirmed that the aircraft is completing the required inspections before beginning operations, even if it did not provide the precise number of passengers on board. In a flash, another plane was scheduled to finish the trip.
