On February 25, the city’s temperature was 15 degrees Celsius, the lowest it has been in February and the second lowest it has experienced all winter. This was four degrees below average for this time of year. On January 24, the city recorded its lowest temperature this season, 14.8 degrees Celsius.

IMD Mumbai predicted that cold weather would linger another two to three days. The cold is owing to northerly winds. Thunderstorms are also forecast in Vidarbha and north Madhya Maharashtra, which is the reason behind this temperature drop.

At the same period, the maximum temperature recorded at Santacruz was 35.7 degrees Celsius, three degrees higher than typical. Colaba had a minimum temperature of 19.5 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 30.6 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature anticipated for the coming week is 19 to 22 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 32 to 35 degrees Celsius.

The city’s air quality index was 118, which indicated moderate pollution from PM10, PM2.5, and O3. Following a few days of satisfactory air, the city’s air quality returned to moderate. Only one station in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) recorded poor air quality at 206 owing to PM10 pollution.
