Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda is poised to embark on his second innings in politics, with reports suggesting his imminent entry into the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Speculation is rife that Govinda will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the North West constituency.

Govinda, known for his iconic roles in Hindi cinema, is reportedly considering contesting on the bow and arrow symbol from the North West Lok Sabha constituency. Initially, there were discussions about allocating this seat to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as part of the Grand Alliance. However, recent developments indicate that the Shiv Sena faction led by Shinde is keen on fielding a candidate from this constituency, potentially including Govinda.

The incumbent MP from the North West constituency, Gajanan Kirtikar, has been in the limelight recently due to internal party dynamics. Initially seen as a strong contender for the Lok Sabha seat, Kirtikar faced a setback when the Thackeray faction awarded the ticket to his son, Amol Kirtikar. Consequently, Govinda’s potential entry into the fray adds another layer of intrigue to the political landscape of the constituency.

Govinda’s foray into politics dates back to 2004 when he contested and won the North Mumbai Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket. Despite securing victory against the five-term incumbent Ram Naik, Govinda’s tenure as an MP was marked by controversies, including allegations of absenteeism and lack of engagement with constituents.

Following his stint in politics, Govinda made a successful return to Bollywood with notable films like ‘Partner’ and “Bhagam Bhag.” However, recent developments indicate his interest in reentering the political arena, possibly under the banner of Shiv Sena.

Known for his dynamic on-screen presence and versatile acting skills, Govinda’s potential political comeback has garnered attention and speculation within both the entertainment industry and political circles. As preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections unfold, Govinda’s entry into the political fray adds an element of excitement and anticipation, particularly in the North West constituency of Mumbai.
