Actor Nimisha Nair Faces Road Rage Harassment on Mumbai Highway
Early morning incident in Bandra raises safety concerns; two youths detained after video goes viral
Mumbai: Actor Nimisha Nair reported a frightening road rage incident that took place in the early hours of March 17 on the Western Express Highway near Kherwadi flyover in Bandra East.
The actor was travelling in an Uber cab with a friend from Andheri to Nariman Point around 4:45 am when two men on a scooter allegedly blocked their vehicle after being overtaken. The situation quickly escalated, with the men reportedly abusing the driver, issuing threats, and attempting to open the car doors.
Nimisha recorded a video of the incident, in which she can be heard pleading with the men to stop. She chose not to engage and focused on staying safe during the ordeal.
She later revealed that this was not her first such experience, mentioning a similar harassment case earlier this year in Colaba, for which she had filed an FIR.
After the video went viral on social media, Mumbai Police traced the accused using vehicle details. Two men, aged 25 and 27 from Dadar, were detained, questioned, and later released with a notice.
In a follow-up statement, Nimisha thanked the police for their quick action and urged citizens to report such incidents and avoid reacting aggressively.
The incident has once again brought attention to road safety issues in Mumbai, especially for women travelling late at night or early in the morning.
