Akasa Air Launches Daily Flights Between Mumbai & Srinagar, Strengthens Presence In North India
On March 1, Akasa Air began nonstop daily flights from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, to Mumbai. The inaugural flight departed Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport at 1:55 p.m. and arrived at Mumbai-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 5 p.m. The daily flight departs Mumbai at 10.40 a.m. and arrives in Srinagar at 1.20 p.m.
In a press release, the airline said, “The new route strengthens Akasa Air’s presence in North India while offering enhanced and convenient options for travel between the two cities.”
Airline’s Co-Founder, Praveen Iyer, said, “We are happy to begin operations in Srinagar, expanding our presence throughout the country. The airline was inaugurated in 2022. Since then Akasa Air has transported over 7.75 million passengers and links with 21 cities, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Goa, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Guwahati, Pune, Lucknow, Kochi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Varanasi, Gwalior, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Port Blair, Ayodhya, Agartala, Srinagar, and Doha (Qatar).
