A Bengaluru school teacher, Sridevi Rudagi (25), has been arrested along with two men, Ganesh Kale (38) and Sagar (28), for allegedly blackmailing and extorting money from a student’s father, with whom she was in a relationship.

The victim, a trader and father of three daughters, enrolled his five-year-old child in the school in 2023, where he met Sridevi during the admission process. They remained in contact through messages and video calls, which later led to a personal relationship. Using private photos and videos from their meetings, Sridevi initially forced him to pay ₹4 lakh. In January, she demanded an additional ₹15 lakh.

When the man decided to move his family to Gujarat, he went to the school to collect his child’s Transfer Certificate. There, Sridevi and her two associates confronted him, showed him explicit content, and demanded ₹20 lakh. Under pressure, he transferred ₹1.9 lakh but continued to receive threats. Unable to tolerate the harassment any longer, he approached the police.

Following an investigation, the police arrested all three accused, and they have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
