A chef, bodybuilder, and social media star has once again demonstrated his extraordinary skills in the kitchen.
The 33-year-old Wallace Wong added 9 more Guinness World Records (GWR) to his name by chopping vegetables at lightning speed — some of them while blindfolded. With this, he takes the total count to 11. His recent achievements involved chopping the most number of celery slices while being blindfolded.
In a video shared by GWR on Instagram, the chef set the record for slicing 125 celery pieces in 30 seconds without looking.
Of all the items, Wallace Wong found the blindfolded tomato record attempt to be the hardest. Despite this, Wallace set the record for cutting 9 tomatoes in one minute while blindfolded.
“When you cut the tops or the bottoms, or even the middle, you can’t control how they fly because of that, it makes it extra hard to then make sure you don’t get disqualified on some of those cuts,” he said.
Additionally, he holds the title of slicing a bell pepper within 9.43 seconds — the fastest time to chop a vegetable. He attempted the feat without the blindfold.
Wong previously made headlines in 2023 for setting the records for most slices of carrots sliced while blindfolded in 30 seconds, 121, and most slices of cucumbers sliced while blindfolded in 30 seconds, 166.
Moreover, Wallace Wong etched his name in the GWR again by slicing 128 celery chunks in 30 seconds, a few days ago.
Wallace Wong used every chopped ingredient to prepare a meal to ensure there’s no wastage of food.
He cooked a “world record vegetable noodle dish”, from carrots, cucumbers, and roasted tomatoes-bell pepper broth. Cucumber confetti, pickled celery, chilli garlic oil, and fried garlic were also included in the dish.
