CBSE Board Exams 2025 Begin: Key Details and Guidelines
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for the 2024-25 academic session today, February 15, 2025. This year, a record 42 lakh students are participating in the exams, which are being conducted at 7,842 centers across India and in 26 countries worldwide.
Key Statistics:
- Total Students: 42,00,237
- Class 10: 24,12,072 students across 84 subjects
- Class 12: 17,88,165 students across 120 subjects
- Increase from Last Year: 3,14,695 more candidates compared to the previous year’s 38,85,542
Exam Schedule:
- Class 10 Exams: February 15 to March 18, 2025
- Class 12 Exams: February 15 to April 4, 2025
First Day Subjects:
- Class 10: English (Communicative) and English (Language & Literature)
- Class 12: Entrepreneurship
Exam Timings and Guidelines:
- Exam Duration: 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM
- Arrival Time: Students must arrive by 10:00 AM; late entry is prohibited
- Departure: Leaving the exam hall before 1:30 PM is not allowed
Required Documents:
- Regular Students: Admit card, school ID, and school uniform
- Private Candidates: Admit card and a government-issued photo ID
Prohibited Items:
- Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, earphones, wallets, and handbags
Security Measures:
CBSE has implemented enhanced security protocols, including CCTV surveillance at exam centers to prevent malpractice. Each exam room accommodates 24 students, monitored by two invigilators. Schools are required to provide CCTV footage upon request; failure to do so may be considered involvement in unfair practices.
CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh emphasized the board’s commitment to fair and transparent examinations, highlighting continuous improvements in processes and secure handling of exam materials.
With these measures in place, CBSE aims to conduct the 2025 board exams efficiently and transparently across all centers.
