Vicky Kaushal’s recent historical drama, “Chhaava,” has captured audiences with its compelling portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Released in theaters on February 14, the film, directed by Laxman Utekar, adapts the book “Chhaava,” recounting the heroic saga of the Maratha ruler.

The star-studded cast includes Vicky Kaushal in the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai, and Akshaye Khanna as the formidable Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Supporting roles are played by Divya Dutta and Ashutosh Rana.

Following its theatrical run, “Chhaava” is slated to stream on Netflix, though an official release date hasn’t been announced yet. Typically, films move to digital platforms like Netflix within 45 to 60 days post-theatrical release, as seen with recent releases like “Pushpa 2” and “Stree 2.”

At the box office, “Chhaava” has made an impact with an estimated budget of ₹130 crore. It debuted strongly with ₹31 crore, marking Vicky Kaushal’s highest opening and the biggest Bollywood debut of 2025 so far. Within two days, the film has grossed ₹65 crore, with expectations to surpass ₹100 crore by the weekend’s end.
