According to police, most children went missing due to personal or emotional reasons and not due to major crimes.

  • 128 children left home because of love-related issues.
  • 114 ran away after being scolded by parents.
  • 103 went to visit relatives without informing anyone.
  • 63 left for trips, and 48 went to a girlfriend’s house.
  • There was one case related to mental disability and one accidental death.
  • 25 cases were registered under the POCSO Act.

Of the total missing children, 349 were girls. Among the 41 still missing, 34 are girls and 7 are boys.

Police registered 483 cases and solved 442, achieving a 91.78% detection rate.
