At the ‘Dawat e Iftar’ program held by Kondhwa Police Station at Kausarbagh Maidan on Thursday evening, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stressed the value of citizen participation in reporting criminal activities in an effort to support community policing efforts.

Commissioner Amitesh Kumar emphasized the crucial role that the public plays in upholding law and order, and he urged everyone to report any instances of criminal behavior—including drug trafficking and illegal trading—to the closest police station or by immediately dialing 112. Kumar reaffirmed the police department’s resolve to take immediate action, punish offenders, and protect the public.

Prominent individuals were present at the event, including Assistant Commissioner Ganesh Ingle, Senior Police Inspector Santosh Sonwane, Police Inspector (Crime) Mansingh Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police Praveen Pawar, Former MLA Mahadev Babar, Yogesh Tilekar, DCP (Zone 5) R. Raja, and MLA Chetan Tupe.

Ex-Corporator Gafoor Pathan, Sainath Babar, Nanda Lonkar, Hasina Inamdar, Zaheed Sheikh, Rahul Dambale, Sufi Anwar, Abid Syed, Sameer Ansar Sheikh, etc. were also present on the occasion.

Commissioner Amitesh Kumar spoke at the event, wishing the Muslim community a heartfelt Ramadan and stressing the need of promoting harmony and collaboration between law enforcement and the general public.

Emphasizing the cooperative strategy for upholding law and order, Kumar gave residents the reassurance that they won’t experience any consequences for reporting information to the police. He reaffirmed that lawbreakers will face severe consequences, highlighting the police department’s unwavering dedication to maintaining justice and guaranteeing Pune residents’ safety.

Community leaders, law enforcement officers, and citizens came together in unity and reaffirmed their shared commitment to creating a city that is safer and more secure as a result of the event.
