Since its opening, the Samruddhi Mahamarg highway has been making headlines, but not for the right reasons. Despite being new, accidents on the highway are still occurring. Now, motorists are worried about the large potholes that have appeared, increasing the risk of accidents and causing fear among drivers.

Recently, a dangerous pothole emerged near Lohegaon in Nandgaon Khandeshwar taluka, raising concerns among drivers. The collapse of the concrete on the bridge, while farmers were walking nearby, added to the worries. Fortunately, no one was hurt in this incident. Complaints about design and construction errors on this road have been ongoing for the past six months.

Despite the Samruddhi Mahamarg costing Rs 55 thousand crores to build, potholes have started forming within months of its inauguration. This poses a significant risk for accidents.

Additionally, the lack of passenger facilities on the highway is being blamed for the frequent accidents. The absence of amenities forces drivers to be extra cautious.

Continuous driving on the highway is causing highway hypnosis among drivers, leading to mistakes like lane cutting and speeding. This is contributing to the rising number of accidents on the Samruddhi Mahamarg.
