Family of Four Injured in Explosion While Tampering with Perfume Bottles in Palghar
Four family members, including two children, were injured in an explosion while trying to change expiry dates on perfume bottles in Palghar district.
The incident happened late Thursday night in Room No. 112 of Roshni Apartment, Nallasopara, near Mumbai, an official said.
The injured are Mahavir Vadar (41), Sunita Vadar (38), Kumar Harshvardhan Vadar (9), and Kumari Harshada Vadar (14).
According to the official, the family was reportedly altering expiry dates on perfume bottles using flammable materials. This may have caused the explosion, injuring all four of them.
Kumar Harshvardhan is being treated at Life Care Hospital, while the other three are at Oscar Hospital, both in Nallasopara.
The police are investigating to find out what caused the explosion and the details of the tampering process. They have not yet decided if legal action will be taken.
Thankfully, no damage was reported to nearby flats. However, residents in the area were shocked and called for more awareness about the dangers of handling flammable materials.
Investigations are still ongoing.
