Many spiritual leaders and groups, including the famous ash-covered Naga Sadhus, are part of the Mela. Among the highlights is the story of “IIT Baba,” a unique spiritual figure who has caught everyone’s attention.
About IIT Baba
Abhay Singh, also known as Masani Gorakh, arrived at the Kumbh on the first day. He studied aerospace engineering at IIT Bombay but left his career in science to follow a spiritual path.
Originally from Haryana, he spent four years at IIT Bombay and later pursued a master’s degree in design. He also developed a love for photography and taught physics to students.
In an interview, IIT Baba shared how he studied philosophy, including the works of Socrates and Plato, to find the true meaning of life. He said, “I now understand that this is real knowledge. Spirituality helps us understand the mind and mental health.”
