Heavy Traffic on Mumbai-Goa Highway as Holi Travelers Hit the Road
Mumbai, March 13, 2025: A massive traffic jam has brought the Mumbai-Goa Highway to a standstill as thousands of people travel to Konkan and their hometowns for the long Holi weekend. Ongoing construction work on the highway has made the congestion even worse.
With Holi falling on Friday, March 14, many people are taking advantage of the extended weekend to go on trips or visit their families. The combination of heavy traffic and unfinished roadwork has caused long delays for travelers.
Maharashtra’s Public Works Minister, Shivendra Raje Bhosale, recently reviewed the construction progress and asked officials to speed up the work. While past issues have caused setbacks, project officials say the major problems have now been solved.
Travelers using the Mumbai-Goa Highway should expect delays and plan their trips accordingly.
