There’s no rule about how often you need to update your Aadhaar photo. However, UIDAI suggests updating it at least once every 10 years. For example, if a child got their Aadhaar card at 5 years old, they should update their photo and biometrics when they turn 15.

How to Update Your Aadhaar Photo:

  1. Visit your nearest Aadhaar center. You can book an appointment online if you want.
  2. Fill out the update form and give it to the staff.
  3. They will take your new photo and give you an update request number.
  4. Pay a fee of ₹100.
  5. Your updated Aadhaar card with the new photo will be ready in a few days.
