HSRP Mandatory for Pre-2019 Vehicles in Maharashtra: Install by March 31, 2025 to Avoid Penalties
In Maharashtra, about 1.25 crore vehicles that were registered before 2019 need to get High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP). The transport department made it mandatory to install these plates starting January 7. In the first two days, 10,000 vehicles were fitted with the plates.
To make it easier, Maharashtra is divided into three zones, and different agencies are in charge of each zone. Zone 1 has 12 RTO offices, Zone 2 has 16 offices, and Zone 3 has 27 offices. Vehicle owners must install the plates by March 31, 2025.
