India’s Finance Minister Boards Mumbai Local, Passengers Take Selfie
Commuters on a Mumbai local train were surprised to see an unusual co-passenger this morning. The passengers’ delight evolved into an unforgettable experience when Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman entered their carriage and chatted with them.

Nirmala Sitharaman’s train travel took her from Ghatkopar to Kalyan, both Mumbai suburbs, according to an online statement by her office. Photos shared alongside showed her posing for selfies with young people and office workers.
Local trains are considered Mumbai’s lifeline, transporting nearly 60 lakh passengers each day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has used public transport on multiple occasions and spoken with people.
