New Delhi, April 27, 2025 — The sacred Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is all set to return in 2025 after a five-year hiatus, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced. The much-anticipated pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar will officially commence on June 30, 2025, offering both spiritual seekers and adventure enthusiasts a chance to embark on the revered journey.

Yatra Schedule and Routes The Yatra will take place between June and August 2025, with two available routes:

  • Lipulekh Pass (Uttarakhand)
  • Nathu La Pass (Sikkim)

This year, 15 batches will be organized:

  • 5 batches (50 pilgrims each) via Lipulekh Pass
  • 10 batches (50 pilgrims each) via Nathu La Pass

The pilgrimage attracts thousands every year and holds immense significance for Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains alike.

Online Registration Process Registrations are now open on the official portal kmy.gov.in. Applicants must:

  • Fill out the online application form
  • Upload a passport-size photo, a scanned copy of a valid Indian passport, and a medical fitness certificate
  • Pay the registration fee online

No physical documents are required, and selections will be made through a fair, computerized draw ensuring equal opportunity and gender balance.

Mandatory Medical Clearance Given the high-altitude conditions, all selected pilgrims must undergo a compulsory medical fitness test. Pre-departure briefing sessions will also be organized to cover health and safety protocols.
