The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 started with host Amitabh Bachchan conducting the Fastest Finger First round, where Binod Kumar Choudhary from Katihar, Bihar, won a chance to sit in the hot seat. Binod, who runs a coaching institute with around 60 students, shared that he previously taught at another institute, earning only Rs 4000-5000.

During the game, Binod faced a Rs 3000 question about the main ingredient of a popular Bihari dish called ‘tarua’ or ‘bajka.’ Unsure, he used the ‘Audience Poll’ lifeline and correctly chose Option B) Vegetables. He also mentioned that he got married a year ago, prompting Big B to humorously ask if marriage had made him calmer. Binod replied that he has always been this way and praised his wife for her support, sparking laughter from the audience.

The next challenge was the Super Sawaal: “Which cricket stadium celebrated its 50th anniversary in January 2025, with Rohit Sharma sending a special message?” Binod confidently answered Wankhede Stadium and earned the ‘Dugnastraa’ superpower.

For the Rs 40,000 question, Binod was asked which avatar of Lord Vishnu defeated the demon Hiranyaksha. Using ‘Dugnastraa,’ he correctly answered Option B) Varah, winning a bonus amount.

However, Binod struggled with the next Rs 40,000 question: “Who became the second Indian chess player to surpass the 2800 Elo rating in 2024?” He used the ‘Double Dip’ lifeline, first selecting Option A) D Gukesh, which was incorrect, and then Option C) R Praggnanandhaa, which was also wrong. This ended his game with Rs 10,000.

Next up was Fawaz Kamaal Hashmi from Bhopal, now living in Pune. A Software Engineer Consultant, Fawaz shared that he has been staying in a PG for the past two years, where he formed a close-knit group of 40 friends. He joked that his room is called “the headquarters” and shared how much he misses his friends. Comparing his life in Bhopal and Pune, he said, “My life, my room, my rules,” making the audience laugh.

For the Rs 10,000 question, Fawaz was asked about the app with tabs named ‘chats,’ ‘updates,’ ‘communities,’ and ‘calls.’ He used the ‘Audience Poll’ and correctly chose Option C) WhatsApp. Mr. Bachchan teased him, saying, “You’re a software consultant, and you didn’t know this?”

The Super Sawaal asked about the former Finance and Railways Minister who is currently the Minister of Commerce and Industry (as of 2024). Fawaz guessed Ashwini Jadhav, which was incorrect; the correct answer was Piyush Goyal.

Before leaving, Fawaz asked if he could pose a question on behalf of the audience. He asked Big B whom he would pick as his top three contacts for “Video Call A Friend” and why. Mr. Bachchan replied with a smile, “My granddaughter Navya Nanda would be one of them. Whenever we watch this show together, she guesses the correct answers even before I read out the options. She alone would be enough!”
