Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar: Udaipur’s Royal Car Enthusiast

Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, known as the ‘Prince of Udaipur’ and a descendant of Maharana Pratap, has a passion for luxury and vintage cars. His collection includes high-end vehicles like Rolls Royce and rare classics from the colonial era. He also owns Indian-made vehicles, such as the limited edition Mahindra Thar 700, gifted to him in 2019 by Anand Mahindra.

In September, Lakshyaraj became the first Indian to own the BSA Gold Star 650 motorcycle, priced between ₹3.02 lakh and ₹3.37 lakh. This modern bike boasts 45.6 horsepower, dual-channel ABS, and six color options, reflecting his love for both vintage and modern motorcycles.

Family Disputes Over Royal Heritage

Despite his royal title, Lakshyaraj’s family history is marked by disputes over the throne. His grandfather, Bhagwant Singh, chose his younger son, Arvind Singh, to manage royal properties, bypassing his elder son, Mahendra Singh. This decision caused a family rift.

Recently, the appointment of Vishvaraj Singh, Mahendra Singh’s son, as chief of Chittorgarh Fort sparked further protests within the family. The Mewar family’s net worth is reportedly around ₹10,000 crore, despite ongoing tensions.

Lakshyaraj remains a significant figure, balancing his royal heritage with modern interests, showcased through his unique collection of cars and motorcycles.
