Leopard Spotted in Mulund, Attacks Dog Outside Housing Society
Residents living near the forested areas of Mulund were left worried after CCTV footage showed a leopard entering a neighbourhood and attacking a stray dog outside a housing society.
The video, which surfaced on social media over the weekend, shows the leopard walking near parked vehicles before suddenly pouncing on the dog. The clip quickly went viral, creating panic among local residents and raising concerns about safety in areas close to forest zones.
After the video came to light, officials from the forest department and wildlife experts visited the spot to assess the situation. They inspected the area, spoke with residents, and studied possible routes the animal may have used.
Experts said that leopard sightings are not uncommon in localities situated near forest corridors. Since Mulund is close to green zones, occasional movement of wild animals, especially during early morning or late-night hours, is possible.

Authorities have advised residents not to panic but to stay alert. People have been asked to avoid stepping out alone late at night, ensure proper lighting in society premises, and immediately report any wildlife sightings to officials.
Forest teams are continuing to monitor the area and track the animal’s movement to prevent any further incidents. The episode once again highlights the increasing interaction between urban areas and nearby wildlife habitats, stressing the need for awareness and precaution in such neighbourhoods.
