Maharashtra ATS Detains 9 Bangladeshi Nationals for Illegal Entry and Forged Documents
The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has detained nine Bangladeshi nationals for illegally entering and living in India without proper documents, officials said. This brings the total arrests of Bangladeshi nationals to 43 in 19 cases last month as part of a special operation, an official shared on Tuesday.
The latest arrests took place over the last four days in collaboration with local police in Mumbai, Nashik, Nanded, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
The group includes eight men and one woman. According to officials, the suspects had fake Aadhaar cards made using forged documents. Police have registered five cases against them under the Foreigners Act and other related laws.
