Maharashtra Brings Over 500 Government Services to WhatsApp for Easy Access
Mumbai, March 1, 2025 – The Maharashtra government is making it easier for citizens to access government services by bringing over 500 services from the ‘Aaple Sarkar’ portal to WhatsApp. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced this initiative at the launch of Mumbai Tech Week 2025.
To make this possible, the state’s Information Technology Department has signed an agreement with Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp. This partnership will help people get government services quickly and conveniently through their phones.
At the same event, another important deal was signed between the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). NPCI will get land in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to build its global headquarters, strengthening Mumbai’s role as a financial center.
The Maharashtra government also announced plans to set up a ‘Knowledge AI Hub’ in partnership with TEAM to promote artificial intelligence (AI) research and innovation.
Additionally, to support new businesses, the government will create an Entrepreneurship Museum to inspire and assist startups. These efforts reflect Maharashtra’s commitment to digital growth, technology, and economic progress.
