Maharashtra’s First Family Joins Millions in Sacred Ritual at Maha Kumbh 2025
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with his wife Amruta and daughter Divija, took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam—the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers—during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj on Friday.
Expressing his appreciation for the event’s organization, Fadnavis congratulated Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, stating, “A new history and record are being created here.” The Maha Kumbh Mela, held every 12 years, is renowned as one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings, drawing millions of devotees who believe that bathing at the Sangam purifies one’s sins and leads to liberation.
The Uttar Pradesh government has implemented extensive security and logistical measures to ensure a seamless experience for attendees. On Friday alone, over 92 lakh devotees took a dip, pushing the overall attendance at Maha Kumbh 2025 past 50 crore.
Fadnavis’s participation underscores the profound cultural and spiritual ties that leaders maintain with time-honored traditions, highlighting the enduring significance of such events in India’s rich religious heritage.
