Maharashtra CM Shinde Unveils Mumbai Coastal Road, Announces Green Park Initiative
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde partially opened the Mumbai Coastal Road Project (South) from Worli to Marine Drive South Channel.
During the event, he praised the coastal road as a remarkable engineering feat and a valuable addition to the city.
Shinde also announced plans for an international standard central park spanning 300 acres in Priyadarshini Park and Race Course. He believes it will serve as a green lung for Mumbai residents.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to completing projects beneficial to the public rapidly.
Regarding the Coastal Road, Shinde assured that safety measures are in place to save time, fuel, and reduce pollution in Mumbai. He revealed plans to extend the road to Dahisar and Palghar gradually.
Shinde expressed optimism that with projects like Atal Setu and Kinari Marg, reaching anywhere in Mumbai within an hour will soon be possible.
To address the concerns of the local fisherfolk, he mentioned increasing the distance between road pillars.
Additionally, Shinde allocated Rs 500 crore for the development of the Siddhivinayak Temple area and announced the installation of a statue of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj nearby.
Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar also shared their thoughts during the event.
