Mumbai – A shocking incident took place at Juhu Chowpatty, where a 26-year-old man was attacked and had his thumb partially cut off for trying to scare away a barking dog. The Juhu Police have arrested the attacker and charged him with attempted murder under IPC sections 109, 352 and Arms Act sections 4 and 25.

What Happened?

On Sunday, Arjun Kailas Giri (26) was at Juhu Chowpatty with his friend Ramsingh Rajput. As they were leaving through Birla Lane, a dog from a food stall suddenly ran toward Giri, barking. Scared, he picked up a chair to shoo the dog away.

A man nearby got angry at Giri for this, started abusing him, and pushed him. Moments later, he grabbed a knife from the food stall and attacked Giri, stabbing him multiple times. The attacker cut half of Giri’s left thumb and injured his stomach, back, arms, and head.

Police Action

Locals rushed Giri to Cooper Hospital, where he is being treated and is now stable. Based on his complaint, the police quickly arrested the attacker, identified as Omkar Manohar Mukhiya (25), also known as Omkar Sharma, who works in catering.

The police are still looking for the knife used in the attack and are investigating further. The attack is believed to have happened because of the dog incident
