Mithun Chakraborty discharged from hospital, assures he’s ‘Absolutely Fine’
Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, aged 73, was discharged from a private hospital in Kolkata on Monday afternoon, following a brief admission due to severe chest pain on February 10. After undergoing a series of clinical tests, including an MRI, the actor assured the public of his well-being, stating, “There is actually no problem; I am absolutely fine. I have to keep control of my food habits. Let’s see; I may start working soon, maybe tomorrow.”
Earlier in the day, senior doctors and therapists reviewed Mithun Chakraborty’s health condition, confirming that he was in good health and ready to be discharged. The veteran actor revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had personally called him on Sunday, expressing concern about his health and emphasizing the importance of well-being. Chakraborty humorously mentioned that he ‘got a scolding for not taking care of his health’ from PM Modi.
BJP MP Dilip Ghosh also visited Mithun Chakraborty in the hospital in the morning, reflecting the actor’s association with the Bharatiya Janata Party. Mithun, honored with the Padma Bhushan, has an extensive filmography, having acted in around 350 films in various languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Odia, Bhojpuri, and Tamil.
Despite the brief health scare, Mithun Chakraborty affirmed his readiness to resume shooting for his upcoming films, displaying the resilience and spirit that have made him a beloved figure in the Indian film industry.
