Customs authorities at Mumbai’s international airport seized 32.79 kilograms of gold, worth ₹19.15 crore, hidden in the undergarments and luggage of two foreign women, according to an official announcement.
The two travellers from African nations underwent a search based on suspicion upon their arrival at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Monday, as per the official statement.
In both instances, gold was discovered hidden in both undergarments and luggage. The women were arrested, and an ongoing investigation is underway.
In a post shared by Mumbai Customs-III, it mentioned- “On June 10, based on profiling, Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III seized 32.79 Kgs of Gold valued at Rs. 19.15 Cr across 02 cases. Gold was found concealed in undergarments and baggage of two lady passengers of foreign nationality. Both the pax were arrested.”
