Mumbai: Sakinaka Police Arrest Accused in 22-Year-Old’s Murder Within Six Hours
A 22-year-old young man was killed by three men on a bike in broad daylight at Khairani Road. Sakinaka Police investigated the matter, and the accused was behind bars within six hours.
Police officials said that near Sakinaka, the victim Shoeb Ansari was walking on the street when three men brushed on the bike, in front of a studio. Shoeb Ansari confronted them for the act, leading to a huge argument between them.
The argument heated, and the accused men started to beat Shoeb Ansari on the road. The accused hit Shoeb Ansari with a paver block. The victim then fell unconscious due to severe injuries. Pedestrians then took Shoeb Ansari to Paramount Hospital in Sakinaka
After examining him, doctors declared him brought dead. The police reached the spot as soon as they got information about the murder. They took information about the murder from the eyewitnesses. Based on the description of the accused given by the eyewitnesses, the three murderers were detained from Govandi Shivaji Nagar. Anas Sheikh, Gulfraz Khan, and Afzal Syed were arrested by the police for murdering Shoeb Ansan.
After investigating the whole matter, it was confirmed that they were the ones who beat up Shoeb Ansari. The police arrested all three for killing the young 22-year-old man
Mumbai Crime Rate:
Crimes in the city dropped by 34.8% in a year, reveals the latest data from Mumbai Police. 70,367 cases were reported in 2022 and the number dropped to 45,869 in 2023 as per the statistics released by Mumbai Police. The larger police presence on the ground and a robust CCTV camera network for the improved scenario are possibly responsible for this drop in crime rate.
The crime-solving rate improved as well. About 76% of 45,869 cases were solved in 2023 as against 68% of 70,367 cases in 2022, according to data shared by Mumbai Police.
