Mumbai University Issues Strict Warning to Affiliated Colleges Regarding Admission Deadlines
The final admission dates for the 2024–2025 academic year have been released by Mumbai University (MU), but they are subject to a condition this time. The management of the university has issued a warning to its affiliated institutions, stating that they will face serious penalties if they don’t complete the admissions process on time.
MU sent out a warning to its affiliated colleges on February 13 about the repercussions they would face if the procedure is not finished on time. A spokesman for MU claimed that some colleges don’t begin the admissions process on time. As such, applicants who do not submit their applications for admission within the allotted period are either not registered with the institution or, if they are, their exam hall passes are not provided because the application procedure was deemed unfinished or incomplete at the outset. As a result, barriers are being constructed for the testing process as well as future admissions. We won’t accept this going forward.
To ensure that this doesn’t occur in the upcoming academic year, Mumbai University has announced the final admission dates for all faculty and courses for the 2024–2025 academic year. If colleges fail to complete the admissions process by the university-set date, they will be penalised. A MU official stated, “On Tuesday, a circular was given out with instructions.
The University Management Council and Dr. Prasad Karande, temporary director of the Board of Examinations and Evaluation, have decided that information regarding any unresolved issues from the 2020–2021 and 2021–2022 academic years in colleges must be provided to the university by February 15, 2024.
A review committee has been established by the institution to handle any complaints or problems. The MU Registrar, who will head this committee, will receive reports from the Controller of Examinations, the Deputy Registrar (Examinations and Results), and the Deputy Registrar (Admissions, Registrations, Eligibility, and Migration Certificates).
