In an unusual occurrence, a water fountain unexpectedly erupted in the middle of Chandivali Farm Road in Powai on Saturday afternoon, August 3.

It has also raised concerns about the underlying infrastructure issues that led to the pipeline burst.
Soon, a video went viral on social media, showcasing a powerful gush of water shooting up from the road, resembling a full-fledged fountain.

The cause of the pipeline burst is currently under investigation.
Responding to this, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a clarification explaining that flushing was underway to clean the main water pipeline.

However, the BMC’s clarification didn’t stop social media users from making hilarious observations.
Referring to a scene from Dhoom 2 movie, a user wrote, “Abhi Hrithik Roshan niklega paani se rollers skates wale joote pehenke (Hrithik Roshan will emerge from the fountain with his roller skates shoes).”
This isn’t the first time the city has witnessed such unexpected water-related incidents.
