Passenger’s Complaint
In the video, Rajpurohit is seen recording an IndiGo employee while complaining about the condition of his luggage. The staff member appears uncomfortable and repeatedly tells him, “You can’t take my video,” even trying to grab the phone.
Rajpurohit then sits down and is heard calling the police. He later approaches the staff member again, showing his damaged suitcase and broken tote bag, saying, “What kind of behavior is this? Now what am I supposed to do with this bag?” He then urges the staff to call the police, saying, “Yes, call them. Call the police.”
IndiGo’s Response
IndiGo responded to the incident on social media, apologizing for the passenger’s experience. They acknowledged that minor wear and tear can occur during handling but offered Rajpurohit a travel voucher as a goodwill gesture.
In an official statement, IndiGo stated:
“We take such issues seriously and are investigating the situation with our ground team. Our staff followed the airline’s policies and provided a travel voucher as a gesture of goodwill. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and remain committed to ensuring a smooth travel experience for all passengers.”
Mixed Reactions Online
The video sparked discussions online, with some people sharing similar experiences of airlines damaging their luggage. One user commented, “This happens with almost every airline. They should handle our belongings with more care.”
However, others criticized Rajpurohit, claiming he was rude to the staff. One user wrote, “He was probably being arrogant, but when he started recording, he suddenly became polite.”
The incident has once again raised concerns about how airlines handle passengers’ baggage.
