PM Modi Inaugurates Vantara: India’s Largest Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated Vantara, an advanced center for rescuing and caring for animals in Gujarat. Located within the Reliance Jamnagar refinery complex and spread across 3,000 acres, Vantara houses over 150,000 rescued animals from more than 2,000 species. The center provides a safe haven and specialized medical care for endangered animals like lions, leopards, and rhinos.
During his visit, PM Modi interacted closely with various animals, including orangutans, lion cubs, and a rare Clouded Leopard cub. He also toured the wildlife hospital equipped with advanced medical facilities like MRI and CT scans. The center focuses on conserving endangered species and ensures rescued animals receive proper care in environments that resemble their natural habitats.
PM Modi also visited Vantara’s specialized elephant hospital, the world’s largest, where elephants benefit from hydrotherapy pools to treat arthritis and foot problems. His visit underscored Vantara’s significant role in wildlife conservation and animal welfare efforts in India.
