New Delhi: Rekha Gupta has been named the next Chief Minister of Delhi, with Parvesh Verma as her deputy. She will replace AAP’s Atishi, bringing the BJP back to power in Delhi after 26 years. The BJP won a big victory in the February 5 elections, securing 48 out of 70 seats.

Swearing-In Ceremony at Ramlila Maidan

The oath-taking ceremony will be held on Thursday at Ramlila Maidan, which can hold up to 30,000 people. Senior BJP leaders, chief ministers from BJP-led states, and other important figures are expected to attend.

BJP’s Big Comeback in Delhi

Rekha Gupta, who won from the Shalimar Bagh seat, will be the only woman Chief Minister in BJP-ruled states. Parvesh Verma made headlines by defeating outgoing CM Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency.

The announcement was made at the BJP legislature party meeting in Delhi on Wednesday. This victory marks the end of AAP’s 10-year rule, with AAP winning only 22 seats. Key leaders like Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia lost their seats.

Preparations for the Grand Event

With the new leadership confirmed, preparations for the swearing-in ceremony are in full swing. Ramlila Maidan is being cleaned and repainted, as seen in social media images.

The ceremony will take place around noon and will be attended by top BJP leaders, marking the start of a new political era in Delhi.
