Sajid Khan is a well-known figure in the Indian entertainment industry, famous for his cheerful personality and distinctive films. He is the brother of the famous Farah Khan and the son of renowned filmmaker Kamran Khan. Kamran Khan made popular movies like Watan Se DoorIlzam, and Beqasoor. However, he faced a severe downfall after losing his money, which led him to alcoholism.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sajid revealed that his and Farah’s lives changed drastically after their father lost all his money. Sajid shared that after he was born, his father decided to make a high-budget film with Sanjeev Kumar. Unfortunately, Sanjeev Kumar left the film midway, causing a huge financial loss for Kamran Khan. This incident pushed Kamran towards alcoholism. Sajid said:

“My father used to make fun B-grade films with Dara Singh. When Farah was born, things were going well for him. But when I was born, he gave his first flop! He decided to make a big A-grade film with Sanjeev Kumar. That film never got made because Sanjeev Kumar left halfway. My father lost all his money and became an alcoholic. My parents got divorced.”

Sajid also participated in Bigg Boss 16, where he shared a traumatic memory of seeing his father die. Kamran’s liver burst due to alcoholism, causing him to collapse and bleed from his eyes and mouth. Sajid witnessed this tragic event as a young boy, which deeply affected him.

He also mentioned that during this tough time, it was Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, who helped their family. Salim Khan gave them some cash at the graveyard, which helped them survive during that difficult period.

In the same interview, Sajid admitted to doing something very unprofessional in his early career. During his college days, he earned money by hosting events and DJing, which led to his selection as a host for the show Antakshari. However, he ran away before the first episode was shot. He reflected:

“I used to earn Rs. 200 to Rs. 300 by doing shows in college. In the early 90s, Zee TV started, and I got selected as a host for Antakshari. But before the first episode, I ran away. That was the most unprofessional thing I have done in my entire life.”
