Samruddhi Expressway expansion: MSRDC launches third phase
The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has begun the third phase of expanding the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway, linking Bhandara, Gondia, and Gadchiroli districts.
This phase involves building a 127 km expressway from Nagpur to Gondia, a 28 km section from Bhandara to Gondia, and a 194 km stretch from Nagpur to Chandrapur, totaling an estimated cost of Rs 18,475.2 crore.
The expansion aims to cut travel time in eastern Maharashtra districts, opening up new opportunities. The Samruddhi corridor spans 700 km, connecting Mumbai to Nagpur.
Two phases of the project, totaling 520 km, were inaugurated between December 2022 and May 2023. The remaining 101 km section is set to open for traffic by July this year.
