Samruddhi Mahamarg Earns MSRDC National Recognition at SKOCH Summit 2025
Mumbai – The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has been conferred with the prestigious SKOCH Award 2025 for the successful completion of the Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg. The award was presented to Dr. Anilkumar Gaikwad, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of MSRDC, at the 100th SKOCH Summit held recently at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.
The Samruddhi Mahamarg, a flagship expressway project, has been hailed as a game changer in Maharashtra’s infrastructure landscape. Connecting Mumbai to Nagpur through a high-speed corridor, the expressway spans 701 km and links 392 villages across 26 talukas in 10 districts. It has significantly reduced the travel time between the two cities from 16–18 hours to just 7–8 hours.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Dr. Gaikwad highlighted the challenges and achievements of the project. “This award is a recognition of the hard work and commitment of the MSRDC team. Despite several hurdles, we managed to deliver one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in record time,” he said.
Beyond improving connectivity, the expressway is expected to drive economic development in the underdeveloped Vidarbha and Marathwada regions by facilitating agricultural and industrial growth.
Instituted in 2003, the SKOCH Awards recognize excellence in governance, technology, social development, and public service delivery. The 2025 honour reaffirms MSRDC’s contribution to nation-building through world-class infrastructure development.
