“Sharam Kro Bombay Walo”: Journalist Compares Nightlife Of Mumbai & Gurgaon
Journalist Anuj Singhal’s reel comparing the nightlife of Mumbai to Gurgaon (Gurugram) has gone viral on social media. He is seen making disparaging remarks about Mumbai’s nightlife, prompting netizens to mock him for trashing the city while attempting to extol another. While many criticised Singhal and threatened to block his profile, a few supported him and shouted for Gurgaon. However, his caustic comparison of the two cities sparked criticism.
Recording a reel around midnight from Gurgaon, Singhal praises the region’s nightlife while disparaging Mumbai’s. In the tape, he says that the inhabitants of ‘Bombay’ should be ashamed because Gurgaon has a far better nightlife. Stooping to the next level, he insulted the financial capital with derogatory terminology and labelled the “Nightlife of Mumbai is Jhand (messed up or worthless).”
“Sharam karo Bombay walo. Gurgaon mein aajao. Sab kuch yahi pe hai. Asli nightlife Gurgaon mein hai,” he said.
He stated that he wanted to move there. He also referred to the city as “the nightlife capital” in an Instagram image with the comment “I love Gurgaon”.
The Mumbai vs Gurgaon nightlife video sparked outrage among netizens, who accused Singhal of being inebriated. First, some pointed out that criticising one city while praising another is inappropriate for a reputable professional, and they believed he was intoxicated when filming the reel and making such remarks.

Absolutely right. Gurgaon has way better nightlife but women in Bombay get home safe, no matter what clothes they're wearing, even after partying till 2am. In an auto. They stopped on the road. That goes by meter. #Mumbai
