Shatrughan Sinha Addresses Sonakshi’s Wedding and Brothers’ Absence, Strongly Supports Her Choice
Sonakshi Sinha tied the knot with Zaheer Iqbal in a private ceremony at their home in Bandra on June 23. Surprisingly, her brothers, Luv and Kussh Sinha, did not attend the wedding. Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi’s father, has now spoken about their absence.
“I won’t complain. They are human and may not yet be mature enough to handle it. I understand their confusion and feelings. At their age, I might have reacted similarly. But with age and experience, you learn to handle things differently. That’s why my reaction wasn’t as extreme as theirs,” the veteran actor explained.
Sonakshi and Zaheer kept their relationship private for years before marrying in an intimate ceremony at her Mumbai home. Later, they hosted a glamorous reception attended by Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Rekha, Kajol, and Huma Qureshi.
There were earlier rumors about Shatrughan Sinha’s discomfort with Sonakshi’s interfaith marriage. However, he has shown strong support for the couple and is genuinely happy for them.
“In today’s era of women’s empowerment, a girl has every right to choose her partner,” Sinha said. “Of course, I support my daughter. It’s her life and her decision. If they are confident about each other, who are we to oppose? As a parent, it’s my duty to support her. She didn’t do anything wrong. She’s mature and made her choice. I thoroughly enjoyed her wedding celebrations and was overjoyed meeting everyone. Sonakshi and Zaheer looked beautiful together.”
